Four for the Fourth

An idea popped into my head for a different perspective of this year's, July 4, 2017, fireworks. It was a long shot, both literally and figuratively, but conditions seemed to be right. The objective was to capture an overall view of the celebration, illustrating its true magnitude across the span of San Diego. What struck me was the symmetry. Each fiery ball of beauty was like a clone of the others. Timed perfectly throughout the entire show, all four explosions were identical, occurring with precision at exactly the same time. It provided both a dynamic presentation and a photographic challenge. Perhaps the most amazing thing to me was the massive size of these pyrotechnics when compared to even the tallest of buildings in the city. A magnificent Fourth of July! - Dan McGeorge
