Description
A blood moon, or total lunar eclipse, is pretty rare. A super moon is, well, super. A blue moon occurs only once in a blue moon. To have them all happen at once? Extremely rare, like once in 150 years. Now add to that the timing, early morning with the moon setting in the east just before sunrise, on the coast with perfectly clear skies. Then position it directly above the iconic Hotel del Coronado. I'd say it's a once in a lifetime event, maybe several lifetimes. To be there and see it was humbling. To photograph it and preserve this extraordinary moment forever, one that will virtually never happen again, was more good fortune than I could have ever imagined. -Dan McGeorge
