Ring of Fire
Cove Fort, UT

October 10, 2023 marked the day of an annular eclipse. This rare eclipse, last seen in the US in 2012 and next to be seen in 2044, appears as the moon passes between the earth and the sun at such a distance as to only cover the sun partially. The resulting area of the uncovered sun, when viewed exactly in the middle of the shadow's path, reveals the image here. The orange rim around the black center (actually the moon) is known as the "Ring of Fire". It was a spectacular event to experience and to photograph.- Dan Mcgeorge
