Moonrise at the Bridge
Coronado, California
On several occasions while walking along the Tidelands Park path after sunset I noticed how the boats anchored there picked up evening glow through an opening in the trees. It seemed if the moon rose at just the right time, in the right place, and all conditions were favorable there might be a chance for an unusual photograph. With some planning I was where I needed to be. Conditions were promising, when suddenly a sliver of gold appeared above the distant mountains. It grew in size as the moon gradually climbed further in the sky. Slack tide allowed an interesting composition of foreground boats as the majestic Coronado Bay Bridge framed the scene. To actually be there watching it live was breathtaking. -Dan McGeorge
