Patiently I stood by the side of the bay awaiting moonrise. It would be soon. I knew the afterglow of sunset would provide just enough light to illuminate the boats moored by the bridge at Sunset Park. Still an element of uncertainty existed because the variables in making such a photograph are many. As a sliver of gold suddenly appeared behind distant mountains the moment had arrived, and did not disappoint. Quickly moving to optimize the composition I was keenly aware time was of the essence. This fleeting moment would not occur again for a long time, if ever, and everything had to be done correctly. Within minutes the moment had passed, only to be preserved in my memory, and in this image. -Dan McGeorge
