Starry Night
Coronado, California

It was a rare night with a unique condition, and I was excited to see it. Cold crisp air driven by strong winds had pushed away everything but the stars, leaving the night sky perfectly clear. This doesn't happen often along the coast. Coincidentally a large party had just finished up outside the hotel, and bright lights that normally were not present lit up not only the building, but the sand in the foreground as well. My hope was to capture the scene, stars and all. I only had time to capture a couple before large trucks came down the sidewalk to break down the remains of the event. So glad it worked out as planned. This is exactly what I had in mind!
