Not far from Death Valley National Park I had the chance to photograph the night sky. I had not seen the Milky Way for many years as urban areas have been my home. In the blackness of a moonless night the stars above were beyond my youthful recollections. As time passed and my eyes adapted more to the surroundings the depth and clarity and beauty of the heavens overhead were breathtaking. Using a standard 50mm lens I pointed it high above the horizon and captures as best I could the nature's diamond studded canvas. -Dan McGeorge
