While waiting for a moonrise at Harbor Island I saw for the first time new lighted lettering at North Island Naval Air Station spelling out FLY NAVY. At the birthplace of Naval Aviation it was a fitting and striking presentation. Having once served aboard NASNI myself I felt a sense of pride as I viewed the display. Forgetting the moonrise for a bit my attention focused on this scene wanting to capture the lights, the colors, and the spirit of what was represented in these simple words. -Dan McGeorge
