Description

Fannette Island, also known at one time as Emerald Isle, has a history going back more than a hundred fifty years. Situated in Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe it was once the home of an eccentric English Sea captain, and is now part of Vikingsholm and Emerald Bay state park. I was astounded by the incredible sky that greeted me as I arrived in the evening to photograph this iconic and beautiful place. As gentle summer breezes graced the heaven blue above with beautiful clouds as a few small boats and a vintage riverboat cruised around the bay.
