Cathedral Bridge
Florence, Oregon

Florence is a small town stretching along the coast in central Oregon. Its quaint downtown sits along a river bank, and Highway 101 passes above, across a vintage bridge. Approaching, it seemed unremarkable, however once underneath I marveled at the stately architecture rising stoicly above the calmness of the gently flowing river. It is always important to walk around and observed before setting up the camera, so I did. After careful study it appeared the nature of the scene begged for the composition you see here. Symetrical in some ways, in other ways not. In any way, a striking, memborable place to be. -Dan McGeorge
