Crayola Cottages

Rumbling thunder told me to stay under the covered porch sheltering me from pouring rain. Starting and stopping, random squalls left patterns, bubbles, swirls, and downed insects across the surface of Townsend Lake. As the water steadied, a fanciful reflection of some colorful cottages began to reveal itself. Studying the charming image, I chuckled and knew exactly what needed to be done. Running to the lake’s edge I planted my steel tripod and glanced nervously up at rolling dark thunderclouds. Click. A quick jaunt took me back to safety and a sigh of relief. -Dan McGeorge
