Age of Beauty
Guizhou, China

In a remote village high in the mountains of Guizhou Province I came upon an elderly woman who was watching young girls prepare for a village festival. Though shy at first, she was full of life, laughs, and giggles. As we communicated in a nonverbal exchange of gestures I motioned to her with my camera, and a questioning look. At first she waved me away, but then warmed to the idea of my photographing her. Though her smiling laugh was charming, it was this pensive moment that to me best captured the nature of her character, demonstrating that beauty can indeed radiate from within. - Dan McGeorge
