Description
Planning and timing as well as some help from Mother Nature allowed for capture of this Blue Moon rising over the Hotel Del Coronado on July 31, 2015. The term Blue Moon simply means the second full moon to occur in a single month. Because of its rarity the term "Once in a Blue Moon" came to be. On this evening I found a vantage point that would allow for the look I was hoping to achieve. A long shutter speed and telephoto lens captured the remarkable scene exactly as it unfolded. The majesty and mystical feel of the moment was extraordinary. In fact a moment like this only comes around once in a Blue Moon! - Dan McGeorge
