Artist's Description

Somewhere Under
San Diego, CA

A clearing storm had filled the San Diego skies with billowing clouds. Taking a chance I traveled to a vantage point of the city, where I hoped there might be a worthy image to capture. Eventually, as wind driven clouds made their way across the sky a heavy squall of rain began to develop in the south. It seemed to be moving north on a path that would take it between the setting sun and downtown. With any luck a rainbow might result so I hunkered down in the chilly wind and waited. Slowly the first signs of color began to glow at the surface of the bay. As the size and intensity of the rainbow grew, so did the smile on my face. It was one of those rare moments of good fortune when Nature's elements came together in an incredible moment. -Dan McGeorge
