Artist's Description

Robin’s Moment
Columbia River Gorge, Oregon

Returning to a beautiful waterfall I had seen the day before I positioned myself below it in the middle of the rushing stream to compose this photograph. The rocks were slippery and the camera was low near the water. Bending over I could barely see into the viewfinder from my awkward angle. To my surprise upon reviewing the image later that evening, a robin had entered the scene unnoticed, remained long enough for the shutter to pass, and then flew away.
