Artist's Description

Desert Moonset
Tucson, Arizona

Beautiful elements came together at the same time in Tucson with a setting full moon at sunrise, and an amazing sky of pink and blue. This phenomenon is called the "Belt of Venus". The sky is painted pink by the rising sun, and a blue belt is seen below which is actually the earth's shadow being cast above the horizon. It was dark as I hiked carefully up a rocky path through a field of cactus to the perfect spot. Now if Mother Nature would only cooperate! She did. -Dan McGeorge
