Description
Heavy Spring rains can bring a beautiful array of flowers to the typically dry desert. Joshua Tree National Park was blessed with such a dramatic super bloom during the spring of 2019. The ruggedness of the southwest landscape known for its prickly cactus and spindly trees was softened by delicate yellows and purples, as normally dormant plants burst forth in striking pastel colors. I loved the contrast in this image captured not far from the south entrance, the only location in the entire park where a significant bloom of flowers could be found.
